Early Life and Career
DeMar DeRozan, born August 7, 1989, in Compton, California, is an American professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of Southern California (USC) before being selected ninth overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2009 NBA draft.
NBA Career
DeRozan made his NBA debut with the Raptors in 2009 and quickly established himself as a key player. He spent nine seasons in Toronto, averaging over 20 points per game in each of the last six seasons. He was named an NBA All-Star four times and led the Raptors to their first NBA Eastern Conference Championship in 2016.
In 2018, DeRozan was traded to the San Antonio Spurs. He spent three seasons in San Antonio, averaging over 21 points per game and earning his fifth NBA All-Star selection. In 2021, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls.
International Career
DeRozan has also represented the United States internationally. He was a member of the gold-medal winning team at the 2014 FIBA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics.
